Project 3 - Brand Guide
Create a simple brand guideline. Take note that a brand guideline
is different from a corporate identity system (or this) the latter is
more complex and tends to be used for large multinational
corporations, whereas a brand guideline is a concise and bespoke
guideline for smaller and younger companies or brands.
Content: Logo, Colour Typography, Visuals, Applications
Logo Animation
The overall movement of the shape of the logo is straight and it seems like it's moving in a very vertical direction. That is why I think that the animation should be moving in the same direction as well so it fits the logo. The animation also shows how Darrma is growing and presenting itself to the world.

Reflection
This class is definitely one of my most favorite class ever. I have always been very interested in branding and now finally I get to learn more about it here. I was struggling at first and have a lot of creative block but the lecturer was very nice, helpful and she has been so encouraging and pushes the class to be better. It was very fun and interesting to get to know more about the process and the final presentation to the founder was also very informative.
Honestly I was quite down when I didn't receive a very good feedback on my final project during the presentation to the founder. I was very disappointed so I took a rest for the whole day. After having some time to think, I just remind myself that I am just being sensitive and defensive now, I should look at it for others point of view and leave my own opinions aside.
Overall I really had a lot of fun in the class. During the whole semester I always feel very excited for this class so it's pretty sad that now this semester is over. I have learned a lot of things and it has motivated me and inspired me to continue to work hard.
Feedback
Week 11

-Set different font for the chapter name and the logo font
Week 12
Specific Feedback
- Start organising the page number
-Add the size and material of collateral in the brand guide
-Explain the design intentions and other information for the collateral
Week 13
Specific Feedback
- Try to not repeat certain word or phrases
- The overall logo animation is good, try to refine the smaller details more
- Rephrase the brand personalities you have written, add more keywords
- Make sure the layout is organise and consistent
Week 14
Specific Feedback
Natasha HM: The logo looks too similar to NU SKIN, we want to be unique and don't want to face any copyright problems of other brand accusing us of copying. The logo rationale was great but the design itself does not really looks like it reflect that.
Din SB: The overall design is unique and nice, great logo rationale, colors and font choices. The shopping bag design was innovative but it's best to keep it simple because you have to consider the cost of making it and troubles we may face with the design.
Further Reading
This is a 12 episode series made by The Futur showing how does a branding process look like. Starting from communicating to the clients and getting proposals to completing the whole branding desing. This video is very helpful showing you how do designers approach this project, how do they communicate with each other and also a lot of helpful and informative tips and information.
I am still a student so most of the time I am working alone on design projects such as this so it was very helpful to see what are the different roles and how does a design team working progress looks like when they work together.
