On the first week of lecture, our lecturer introduced us to the module and what are the upcoming projects we will be working on

On week 2, we started working on game analysis on among us, and we also researched about what is art direction

Each group presented their game analysis for art directions and we started working on our first proposal for our game concept

Project 1
We will be reworking on the art direction of a famous social deduction game called Among Us. We started splitting our roles and task to work on. I will be responsible for the title design of the game. I will also be working on the overall UI design for the games as well.

The game Among Us actually have quite a scary concept, a group of astronaut stuck in an airship with one of them being an alien disguised as astronaut and trying to kill everyone. But the overall art direction the game went for is more family friendly and cute. I am a fan of horror grungy themes so I feel like this theme would fit the game perfectly.

I started experimenting with different textures and distortion with the title. In the end we decided to choose the bottom left title because we want the overall art direction of the game to look very serious and professional. The chosen title design has slight distortion and grungy aesthetic to it, it tells the audience something is wrong but at the same time it does not shout "THIS IS A HORROR GAME" to the audience.

We are planning to combine pixels style design with realistic 3D lighting, and I found a game called The Last Night that has the same art style with uses pixel design with realistic lighting, so I decided to use it as guideline for the Main Menu for now since we are still working on the designs of the background.
