One of the limitation I have was that I am terrible at illustrating and working with shapes. I usually work with images and typography so I feel very uncomfortable working on this project. I tried to find illustrations I could use for free online but a lot of the illustrations has different style so the overall poster looked very inconsistent with the graphic.

When I was watching the recipe video, the kitchen really caught my attention. I like how rough the kitchen looks. It is not like a typical indoor kitchen with beautiful patterns and color, the kitchen looks old, bland colours it feels like a place filled with stories and histories. So I decided to focus on that specific aesthetic of the kitchen.  But the poster on Fig 3 looks very plain, looking at the kitchen from the video it does have just 1 very bland colours so I tried use it as a reference for the colours of the poster.

Final Reflection

Project 1 & 2

Starting from exercises till project, the whole process was just very tough. I was thinking that an infographic should look colourful and fun with illustrations so it can get people's attention. I think I was just too focus on that concept and I wasn't familiar with that style/theme, I was struggling not really knowing how can I present things in a fun, colourful and interesting way. So I was very frustrated all the time with my work. I feel like I'm more familiar with typography, so I decided to try to focus more on typography which I usually works, simple clean typography for the video. The animated recipe video was very simple and direct, but I feel like the aesthetic and theme just doesn't fit really well with the subject I'm working with. So overall I am quite disappointed with throughout the whole semester for not being able to do well.
