Project 3

Covid Video

In a group of 5, we have to create a video of what we think the future of the Covid situation would look like. There is no restriction and we can be as creative as possible.



Concept


Our group listed out a lot of different options of the concept, going from comedy to scary thriller. All of us are not interested in the typical cringe love story so we went with the thriller instead. Before shooting the video, I watched a lot of videos where video editors would react to other music videos and they would talk about what, why and how does the shot work in the video. They would also give a lot of tips as well and I felt like I've learned a lot from listening to them explaining about the shot and transitions. 


At first I did not want to use any background music because I feel like when people use it they are kind of spoon feeding the audience and forcing them to feel a certain way. Or maybe I'm just bad at using it, but also I think that people tend to feel uncomfortable in silence. For example when we are in a meeting room, someone asked us a question and everyone is just looking at us waiting for an answer. That silence feels very uncomfortable to a lot of people including me as well. For example the movie "A quiet Place", I really love the concept and the silence feels so intense and gave the movie kind of like a sense of mystery and unknown. So I wanted to use that for the video, but I don't think I did a good job using purely ambience, it just sounds weird I'm not doing it right. So we added some small amount of music instead.
